Happy 2025 (a month late)!! That pretty much sums up the beginning of my year so far lolll.
There is something so refreshing about starting a new year. I love getting a fresh slate to take up new habits I’ve been wanting to start. But with that, there comes with the stress of figuring out how those new habits fit in the old routine. Not to mention, starting the old routine back up again. Because, I don’t know about you, but I wasn’t waking up at 7am and hitting the gym four time a week during my winter break….
As I said in my previous post, I had a fabulous time back home for the holidays, but I was definitely looking forward to coming back home and getting back in the swing of life here. That first week back at work though it always tough… Early mornings, establishing classroom routines again. It’s fine, we prevail! I will say, I am not the best at getting back into multiple routines at the same time. I have to add new things week by week. The first week back was simply going to work. Then I had to add the gym back to the schedule the following week. I’m glad my friends and I decided to start the gym in November… No one can accuse us of being Resolution Gym Goers!!
I finally got back into that routine when I decided to throw in another wrench…… Randomly, one Wednesday, I decided I wanted to go to grad school to pursue a Master’s. I usually think more deeply about decisions like this, but I found a school, submitted an application, got accepted, and started my program all within 2.5 weeks. It was so crazy and random, but after week 1, I can say I’m loving it! Being back in school and using my academic brain again has been so fulfilling. (I’m sure there will be a full grad school thoughts post coming soon.) That being said, I had finally established my normal routine before adding this piece, so the last week has been a lot of trial and error. Mostly error because I cannot seem to wake up for the gym before work… Hoping to start fresh this week with the morning gym routine!!
Another habit I have taken up in 2025 is bullet journaling. I honestly never thought I would be a bullet journal girly. I always thought you had to have super nice handwriting and be super artsy to even make it worth your time. But, my two besties here (shout out Taylor & Emily) have the cutest bullet journals, so I thought, why not? Then we can have girls nights and work on them. Seems like a plan to me! I have honestly been loving it though. I started small for my first year, only doing a few yearly spreads and mostly tracking habits and daily highlights for my monthly spreads, but I think it’s so fun. I know I will love looking back on this for years to come. Not to mention, spending a few minutes to reflect at the end of each day has been so nice. I specifically love choosing the daily highlight. It really goes to show how much we have to be thankful for each day, no matter how small.

As you can see, one of my habits is a monthly blog post. Let’s see if I can keep the content up in 2025!
My most daunting, life-altering habits of the year haven’t even started yet though… Starting at the end of February I am starting marathon training paired with no drinking. Both of which are going to be extremely difficult, but have the potential to be the most rewarding things of the year. I cannot wait!!
2025 has been so good to me so far. I have been loving spending much needed time with the best of friends. I cannot wait to see what the rest of the year has in store!!
1/12 months down! Let’s the most of this year!
